International Mining and Resources Conference (IMARC) Conference
By AAMEG | 30 October 2024
In October, Roger and Sarah represented AAMEG at the 2024 International Mining and Resources Conference (IMARC) in Sydney.
With limited Africa-focused presence (exhibitors included three ASX listed resource companies and a larger spread of service providers), AAMEG’s principal objective in attending IMARC was to support members and engage with prospective members. The primary way this was achieved was via a pre-IMARC networking event co-hosted with AMEC, generating exceptional exposure, setting the stage for engagement throughout the conference and generated supportive feedback.
Our pre-IMARC cocktail and networking event was a sell-out and a massive success. Thank you again to our generous event sponsors: Capital Limited, Chrysos Corporation, Toronto Stock Exchange, and Ophir Drilling Pty Ltd.
Interesting to note: With the exception of Zambia’s Head of Mission to Australia and the Nigerian Steel Minister, there was no African Heads of Mission or DFAT Africa presence at IMARC. This reinforces that Africa Down Under, Paydirt and AAMEG are best positioned to continue as the key focus for Australian companies investing in Africa and African countries seeking investment in their respective mining sectors.
