The Africa Awards celebrate companies who are committed to ESG principles

Environmental, Social and Corporate Governance principles go beyond the balance sheet and prioritise holistic drivers for project success

Initiatives which prioritise environmental benefits, social benefits and/or good governance are worthy of celebration. Submissions to these awards might highlight their work as it pertains to the ESG principles.

For example, ESG principles in action would be:

  • Environmental initiatives taken that mitigate a company’s environmental impact by addressing climate change, preserving biodiversity, managing waste, optimising water and resource use, and minimising pollution.
  • Social initiatives taken that demonstrate an entity’s commitment to respect human rights, practice ethical labour, promote safety and health, uplift their communities and value diversity.
  • Governance activities undertaken that demonstrate an entity’s exemplary corporate governance, adhere to high ethical standards, maintain compliance, fairly manage executive pay, encourage diversity and have a fair approach to lobbying and taxation.

At AAMEG we believe in taking a holistic approach to mining. The annual Africa Awards seek to celebrate and champion Australian companies engaged in the minerals and energy resource industries in Africa, who place a high value on operating with environmental, social and corporate governance principles.

We are looking forward to reading all the nominations and championing your achievements.

We thank our 2024 Sponsors for their support
