Financing Mining Projects under the revised Equator Principles

Expectations are rising for financiers and investors to assess a company’s impact on society and the environment. This is particularly to case for mining projects around the globe. One key articulation of these expectations is found in the Equator Principles, an environmental and social risk management framework adopted by many global financial institutions. Equator Principles 4 came into effect on 1 October 2020 and ushered in major changes for project financing of mining projects.
