About the Nominee & their Nomination

Atlantic Lithium is an AIM, ASX, GSE and OTCQX-listed lithium company advancing its flagship project, the Ewoyaa Lithium Project, a significant lithium spodumene pegmatite discovery in Ghana, through to production to become the country’s first lithium-producing mine.

The Definitive Feasibility Study for the Project indicates the production of 3.6Mt of spodumene concentrate over a 12-year mine life, making it one of the largest spodumene concentrate mines in the world, expected to generate significate value to Ghana and particularly to its local, Project-affected communities in the Central Region.

Since the Company began operating in Ghana as early as 2016, when it commenced its maiden drilling programme, Atlantic Lithium has closely supported the socio-economic development of its local communities.

For example, the Company recently contributed funding to the Mfantsiman Municipal Assembly and the Abura Asebu Kwaman Kese District Assembly for the rebuilding of schools that were damaged as a result of heavy rainfall in the Region.

The Company also regularly supports regional events and conferences, with an emphasis on activities that aid its local stakeholders.

The focus of this nomination is Atlantic Lithium’s food donations ahead of Eid-Ul-Fitr to five Muslim communities in the region, which represents one the latest examples of the Company’s proactive support to its local, Project-affected communities.

Initiative: Atlantic Lithium Supports Local Muslim Communities ahead of Eid-Ul-Fitr in Ghana

Marking the conclusion of Ramadan, Eid-Ul-Fitr is an important and joyous event in the Islamic calendar, celebrated by many of the Company’s diverse workforce and among its local communities.

In April 2024, Atlantic Lithium was proud to donate an assortment of food items to five Muslim communities within the catchment area of its flagship Ewoyaa Lithium Project ahead of the annual Eid-Ul-Fitr celebrations.

The initiative exemplifies leadership in the ‘Social’ aspect of ESG.

Highlights

  • Donations, comprising bags of rice, cartons of milo, crates of milk, gallons of cooking oil, packs of tinned tomatoes, boxes of spaghetti, and bottles of assorted soft drinks and water, were made by members of Atlantic Lithium’s in-country team to Islamic communities at Saltpond, Mankessim and Bafikrom, which sit within the Ewoyaa catchment area in Ghana’s Central Region.
  • With a portion of its workforce also celebrating Eid-Ul-Fitr, the donations enabled a closer interaction between the Company and its Project-affected communities, which it is proud to represent, and a strong acknowledgement of the religions and values held by its stakeholders, which are shared among the Company’s staff.
  • The food donations were made to support underprivileged residents of the Central Region, who expressed their immense gratitude for the act, describing the initiative as commendable and timely.
  • The initiative further strengthened the Company’s close relationship with its local stakeholders, resulting in stronger support for the advancement of the Project, which the Company considers fundamental to the long-term success of the Project and its increasing operations in Ghana.
