Jim Allenby: Managing Director of Parvate ESG

As Managing Director of Parvate ESG, Jim leads a team driving sustainable business growth through tailored Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) business advisory services. Karien Erasmus: Director – ESG and Climate Services at RSM Australia 

Originally from South Africa, Karien Erasmus is a Director in RSM Australia’s ESG and Climate Services team in Perth, in the role of climate change and sustainability expert. Over her 20-year advisory career in sustainability, Karien has been instrumental in aiding major, listed companies, particularly in the mining sector, to craft practical sustainability strategies, develop strategic energy and decarbonisation policies and formulate appropriate climate risk analyses and target-setting.

Karien assists a variety of clients to either initialise their sustainability journeys or mature their current sustainability strategies to remain aligned to global best practice or regulatory requirements. She leads climate risk assessments and assists clients to integrate ESG effectively across governance, strategy and risk management.

Karien completed her MPhil (Development Practice) through the University of Pretoria. Her thesis, which linked the theory of responsible leadership with the applicability of greenhouse gas target setting in a developing economy context, was selected for publishing by Springer in a book series focusing on Sustainable Development.

Karien, who has worked extensively across Africa, Papua New Guinea and Peru, is passionate about the continent’s developmental potential. Karien said she really believes in Africa, and what she can offer the world as we transition to a more sustainable future.


 

Tamryn Lee Goddard: Manager – Advisory and Sustainability at BDO 

Originally from Zimbabwe, Tamryn is a Manager in the Sustainability Consulting team at BDO in Perth. She has six years of diverse experience in the environmental management field including a Senior Associate role at PwC where she provided professional execution of consulting services for projects in the sustainability reporting field. Prior to working at PwC, Tamryn worked as a project developer in the renewable energy sector in South Africa, where she delivered high-end, utility scale renewable energy developments including pre-feasibility, environmental authorisations and permitting, facility engineering and design, procurement, and construction.

Tamryn holds a BA in Environmental Management, and higher Postgraduate Diplomas in Environmental Engineering (Civil and Industrial), Environmental Monitoring and Conservation Ecology. She has worked in various industries as a specialist in Energy and Decarbonisation conducting analysis of business operations to identify various opportunities for ESG improvements, providing recommendations for ESG strategy, business processes, operations, market analysis and feasibility studies.

As a Judge, Tamryn said that interesting initiatives around decarbonization would really catch her eye.

 

Chris McCombe: General Manager – Sustainability at the Minerals Council of Australia

Chris McCombe has 25 years of both local and international experience working in geo-scientific, environmental and sustainability policy and practice in the public and private sectors.

Chris leads key initiatives supporting the minerals industry’s environmental, social and governance performance, including implementation of the Towards Sustainable Mining system in Australia. In 2018, Chris worked with the International Council on Mining and Metals, focusing on global water issues.

Prior to his role at the Minerals Council, Chris was Manager, Major Projects for the Queensland Government’s abandoned mines program, managing the rehabilitation program for the Mount Morgan legacy site and abandoned working across breadth of Queensland. Chris has also worked as an environmental consultant and hydrogeologist in both Australia and the United Kingdom.


 

Kaylee Prince: Principal – Sustainability at Perenti

Kaylee Prince is a seasoned environmental professional with over 15 years of experience in the resources sector. Her work is driven by a deep commitment to sustainability and reducing environmental impacts across various industries. Kaylee holds a Bachelor of Environmental Science, a Natural Resource Law Diploma and is currently pursuing a Master of Mining and Energy Law from the UWA. Amongst her achievements, Kaylee has been published in the Environmental and Planning Law Journal and been recognised with the Environmental Protection Award from UWA.

Kaylee has extensive experience in social performance alongside her environmental expertise. In South Africa, she served as a Business Manager, facilitating sustainable development projects in collaboration with local communities. In Kenya, Kaylee played a vital role in promoting local women’s skills and wares, and managing fundraising initiatives, enabling mothers to return to work. Currently, Kaylee is the Principal Sustainability at Perenti, where she is responsible for embedding sustainability across the business.
