Control Risks Africa Risk Reward Index 2024
By AAMEG | 4 October 2024
Dear Members,
On behalf of Control Risks, we are pleased to share the Africa Risk Reward Index for 2024 which has just been released. This is the ninth edition of the Index in partnership with their strategic partner Oxford Economics.
This edition follows the basket of African countries they have been collecting data on since the Index was first published but it also draws on themes affecting the whole continent.
The rise of an increasingly educated and aspirational demographic striving for better prospects than their parent and grandparents experienced is starting to put pressure on governments and is having an impact at the ballot box.
A renewed interest in infrastructure projects is being witnessed, with not only China, the US and EU involved but the gulf states and Turkiye. But the query is which if any will succeed in unlocking value. And what opportunities does artificial intelligence and its associated tech offer up for Africa.
In addition to the report, the link below takes you to a podcast featuring a number of our African analysts which is worth a listen. There is also a webinar recording below.
