| Africa’s mineral wealth continues to attract significant global investment, particularly with the renewed focus on critical minerals. Financing mining projects across the continent, however, presents distinct legal, commercial and structural complexities.
Join hosts DLA Piper and moderator Sharon Carey for a discussion that explores how these challenges are being addressed in practice from a financing perspective, such as key project finance structures and products, approaches to risk allocation and mitigation, and the factors lenders assess when de-risking mining projects in Africa. Topics will also include political and country risk, security packages, off-take arrangements, and local regulatory and permitting requirements. Joining the panel are senior representatives from Cathy Nader (Nedbank), Richard Gaze (Nebari) and John Dorian (Orion) and DLA Piper Perth’s specialist mining project finance lawyer, Owen Alcorn (DLA Piper).
