Financing Mining Projects under the revised Equator Principles Webinar
Legal update by Norton Rose Fulbright
AAMEG and Norton Rose Fulbright combined forces on Monday 19 October 2020 and hosted their Spring Seminar Financing Mining Projects under the Equator Principles, held online.
Expectations are rising for financiers and investors to assess a company’s impact on society and the environment. This is particularly to case for mining projects around the globe. One key articulation of these expectations is found in the Equator Principles, an environmental and social risk management framework adopted by many global financial institutions. Equator Principles 4 came into effect on 1 October 2020 and ushered in major changes for project financing of mining projects.
This seminar was a commercially oriented discussion of the following points:
- What are The Equator Principles ?
- How do investors use these to make investment decisions?
- What are the changes that took effect from October 1 2020?
- What should you be doing to assess and manage environmental, social and governance risks?
