The Australian: The Eternal Gift of Job Creation

Rowan Callick, The Australian’s Asia-Pacific Editor, wrote a very perceptive article in the 20 December edition of The Australian newspaper titled The Eternal Gift Of Job Creation, which illustrates the importance of the private sector in promoting development in poorer countries overseas.

To quote Rowan – “There are signs that despite the global financial crisis that continues to ravage Europe and the US, some poorer parts of the world have been steadily improving their wellbeing in recent years. This should provide an added incentive for Australian business to consider opportunities for expansion in developing countries, because it’s part of a virtuous cycle; educated and healthy communities provide good workforces, and jobs enable families to build better futures and improve their wellbeing.”
