Impact of Covid-19 in Africa Webinar
Facilitated by Kroll
Kroll and AAMEG hosted a webinar on the 4th August 2020 on the Impact of Covid-19 in Africa.
The meeting included presentations from:
- Dr Jonathan Fisher – Head of the International Development Department and Academic Director of the Governance and Social Development Resource Centre, University of Birmingham, and;
- Julianne Hughes-Jennett – Partner, Quinn Emanuel Lawyers, London.
The session was an opportunity to hear about Jonathan’s recent research on the impact of Covid-19 in Africa and, more specifically, the extent to which it is creating new norms and/or accelerating existing trends associated with the limitations of weak security led states/entrenching authoritarianism. Jonathan’s research is a useful way of understanding the dynamics that will shape the investment environment and associated risks in in Sub-Sharan Africa over the coming years.
Julianne also provided useful insights from a business risk and human rights perspective.
The design of the session provided plenty of time for the participants to ask questions.
