2020 AAMEG AFRICA AWARDS (AAA) CEREMONY
4 November @ 5:00 pm - 6:30 pm
The Australia-Africa Minerals and Energy Group is pleased to announce the second annual AAMEG Africa Awards—Australia’s premier event for recognising best practice in mineral exploration across the African continent.
Archetypal of AAMEG’s efforts to bolster the capacity of junior companies in Africa, this year’s event will introduce a new category—the “Emerging ESG Leader Award”—which acknowledges junior explorers or service companies (with a market capitalisation below $100,000,000 and less than 25 employees) whose outstanding company initiative delivers sustainable and tangible benefits to their host communities.
This award joins the existing categories of Best Innovation in Corporate Social Development and Best Workplace and People Development Initiative. The former acknowledges companies who have gone above and beyond traditional CSR and ESG efforts, showing collaboration and engagement between the African community and government, while the latter acknowledges companies who have empowered local populations through innovative training programs, mentoring or apprenticeships.
An esteemed panel of judges has been appointed to evaluate the entrant submissions, including Fred Soale, Hon Consul – Consulate of the Republic of Ghana in Perth, Muza Gondwe, BHP Curtin Alliance Manager, Ben Gargett, Vice-Chairman of AAMEG and Bill Witham, CEO of AAMEG.
Nominations for the second annual event will be open from 15 July till 8 October, with full application and event details available soon at www.aameg.org
